Sky delivered a series of poetry workshops that not only engaged ‘hard to reach’ young people but provided staff with new ideas for how to evolve individual creativity and improve literacy knowledge and skills. Sky is an accomplished facilitator with a wealth of expertise and a creative energy that inspires without overwhelming or intimidating.

Sky leaves no-one behind. She picks up even the most reluctant learner and transports them on a journey of creativity, positivity and possibility. It has been my absolute privilege to work with her over a number of years and I would recommend the concept of emotional wellness through poetry without hesitation.

One of the most experienced performers and facilitators I've had the pleasure to work with. As facilitator for our long-running rehearsal club, she proved herself to be a dedicated, imaginative and responsive tutor able to construct workshops to meet a wide range of learning needs. Scratch Tyne was unique - Sky inspired and supported a generation of performance poets.

Poetry and Performance

Sky is a powerful, engaging, funny performer and her powerful poems which are real stories which need to be told, from a voice which needs to be heard.

Sky's writing explores the complexities of life as a woman, especially the shifting sands of emotion that exist between mothers and their children. Never one to back away from difficult truths, Sky has evolved a distinctive voice in which she speaks of abandonment with tenderness, and of discrimination with righteous rage. A gripping performer, Sky is adept at bringing her words to life, whether that is as a character sketch or a brutally honest autobiographical poem. By turns heartbreaking and hilarious, she is unforgettable.
